Zirconium Lactate is a lactic acid derivative which is known to have molecular formula C12H20O12Zr with molar mass of 447.50 g/mol. It finds its most common application as cross-linking agent in petroleum industry for preparation of gels. This zirconium complex is also utilized in some deodorants and is known to have superior effectiveness. Zirconium Lactate can be industrially produced by treatment of zirconium oxide with lactic acid under controlled conditions.
